All Presley Montgomery wants is to forget a past of emotional abuse
and infidelity. When her six-year-old niece shows up unexpectedly, she
must readjust her life to care for the little girl. Too independent
and stubborn for her own good, Presley refuses to seek help, all the
while trying to keep her past and emotions locked away.
After Private Investigator Sam Harding’s fiancé was killed because of
case he was working on, he vowed never to risk his heart or the life
of another again. When he approaches Presley regarding a diamond heist
involving her sister, he finds himself struggling to keep his vow. For
some reason, Presley compels him to help and protect her, despite his
better judgment.
But there’s someone else who wants the diamonds for themselves and
will stop at nothing to get them. Soon, Presley and Sam are thrust
into the middle of a dangerous game of finder’s keepers. Will they
have what it takes to catch a thief? Or will they lose their hearts
and their lives in the process?
